Some of you asked about the Search not working. Last week we ran out of space on our database and it brought the site down. To free up space, I had to delete the search index and disable it. Search index takes up a considerable amount of space due to the high number of posts we have on our Community.

I'm working to find out what it will cost to double our storage so that we don't have a problem like we had last week. Till then, unfortunately the search will not work for old posts.

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay in getting the Forum fixed. We are running out of space. I've temporarily made some space so that you guys can post again, but will need to figure out a permenant solution.

I'm in talks with the hosting company on upgrades. Thank you for your patience. I hope this delay didn't cause too much of an inconvenience.

Hello All,

I've updated the site with a different color scheme. Based on many suggestions, I too agreed that the previous green was a bit too much. So I've come up with a mix of orange/grey/green. This way it ties into our traditional orange from the main site, uses the green from the old forums and brings over the grey from the previous (blue/grey) scheme we had before the upgrade.

Hopefully this will please almost all of the members. Please let me know your suggestions and comments. I love to hear them!

Oh and I've also put out a new logo, let me know what you think.

Boo, I took the colors from the old site, so yes these greens are from the old Forum. But I do agree that there is too much green. Give me suggestions on which other colors I can use. I have full control over the colors on the site now and I can also make themes so I can make color changes often (like based on season or holiday or festivals etc etc).

Here are the parts that we can focus on:

1) Header – the site title section including the navigation bar. We can change the color of the green to something else there (maybe the original BWL orange?)

2) The Alternate rows in the post listings: this is the exact greens from the old forum.

3) The footer (and the very topmost header):This is a new green I picked up that is not from the old forum.

So we can change all or any of these sections that are green. We can also change other sections (like the grey right bar).

This is to all users,

please refrain from posting multiple song requests in the same thread. It is more work for us and doesn't really make sense to post multiple song requests, because if the person answering the request only replies with one song and marks the post as answered then your other requests may not get answered.

Also for organization purposes this is not very efficient, so please post only ONE song per thread.

I know our moderators, and Ek.Ajnabi was doing her job of trying the keep the BWL community a good and clean place. She probably had the good intentions in mind, and she has been doing great job around here as well as all the other moderators. Here is what I would like all the moderators to follow in case when posts/threads need that little “extra” attention:

1) Contact the thread owner and ask for their help to get the thread back on topic

2) Post a message in the thread asking members to keep to the topic and use another thread to continue their discussions.

3) If 1 and 2 don't work, contact me and I will then determine and take the necessary steps.

I am also not sure why threads are locked and which threads are locked. I'll take a look. Maybe some of the Moderators have locked it, but I'll check what happened and keep you posted. I usually don't lock threads unless we need to keep it as a read-only for reference purposes and that usually isn't in the “Say Something” section, because as you've said, it is “your”, the members, section.

The stars are to identify moderators of the Forums.

The number of posts that you have made determine the designation, and after certain posts you are designed GOLD member indicating your activeness in the forum.

It is because the servers get max'd out on what it can handle, basically we run out of memory. This may continue to happen until I can upgrade to the higher hosting package (I'm very grateful for my hosting provider HostMySite.com for letting me run on this package for the time being). I'm trying to minimize the downtime, so I've scheduled the server to restart itself every 5 hours, and that is why people may get kicked out while doing something.

This is also the same reason I haven't upgraded to the new version, I'm afraid with the added features the site may go down more frequently.

Yes it does. READ the FAQ in this section and email the Admin (me) if you have any questions or do not understand. Everyone should be reading this before they attempt to post. The rules are there to help the members like yourself, it doesn't benefit anyone else.

No, its not you. They are big… hey they had to be noticable, after all the people that really help maintain and keep this site going have to be recognized in a big way (I think).

You cannot upload or simply paste in the pictures that you have on your computer as file. The image will never upload to our servers and therefore won't show up.

What you should do with the welcome back image is upload it to flickr and use the steps I posted and see if it will show up. I don't allow uploading of images on the forum itself because of space issues.

If you still have trouble using the flickr service, email me the picture and I'll upload it and send you the URL so that you can use it in the post.

I agree. That section does need to be there as I tend to just move them to the Say Something section.
