Aman, I’d say it was one of those time pass movies. I might buy the DVD cos it was cute. If you are bored and in the mood, I’d say watch it, but don’t expect anything major and you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.

I really want to watch One Day. Slash read the book first.

And I watched Aarakshan of late, has anyone else seen it? The movie was handled really well, it is an important movie which needed to be made. Good acting, tight script, kind of cheesy Bollywood ending in the end, decent songs (Achha Lagta Hai totally sticks with you!), important message but non-preacy in nature – well worth a watch!

The first 45 minutes or so of Delhi Belly I watched was a laugh riot and I loved it for that! How the content is handled is a lot more important than the obscene/vulgar nature of the content, IMO. It seemed to be handled well. Cannot wait for the DVD so I can watch the whole thing – hopefully uninterrupted. 😛

I watched Tere Sang today. An old ish Bollywood movie about teenage pregnancy. It was actually decently handled and made, I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. Has anyone else seen it?

    Thank you guys. 🙂

My condolences to all the families who have suffered losses from this too. What purpose this serves, I will never understand.

On an unrelated note, I uploaded a video I took whilst sitting in the taxi (no correlation to the bomb blasts whatsoever) on my way home from the Marine Drive area. Mumbai traffic was hustling and bustling as usual and on the radio comes on Ae Ajnabi. It was beautiful. And I thought, who better to appreciate this than a Bollywood forum.. lol. 🙂

There have been bomb blasts in Mumbai, and I was about ten minutes away from where they took place. Touchwood I am fine though.

Awwww Aman!! You should have come and posted something, but hey I get it, U2 > BWL I see hmmm 😛 hehe. I hope your big day went well for you. 🙂

    How was the concert?

I love love what you’ve written about time and light, that is really kinda wow. 😯

By the way, I was looking at Amazon lists – you know the type that users make of books they must read blah blah? And I was reading one about some dude/dudette’s list of top 20 books and The Handmaid’s Tale was on it and he/she writes: “Only a Canadian could have written this – a disturbing portrait of sex and puritanism in a totalitarian America in the not-too-distant future.” and it made me LOL and think of the forum and its ehm.. ‘special’ Canadians 😉

Sigh. I love looking at books online, it’s soooo easy to just click ‘Add to basket’ and because there is no actual physical money involved, it doesn’t FEEL like you’re wasting (not that money spent on books is ever a waste!!) money… is that a valid enough reason/excuse to splurge? 🙁 hehe

Ah, you work? Where do you work?

You’re welcome my sweet, that song puts a happy smile on my face too! =) You are special in all the RIGHT ways, don’t you worry.

I did focus on something else, but yes cramming sessions are BAD for your health – physical and mental health!! Uff. OMG I know that feeling, for three nights before the dreaded D Day, I could NOT sleep properly, regularly getting into bed at midnight and eventually falling asleep at 3 am!! And then of course the next morning I would NOT listen to my 8 am alarm 🙁 I hate those kinda dreams too, about work but they’re so wishy washy you can’t work out what is happening and of course you’re too lost to realise you’re in a dream so you’re like whaaaa. lol. And my LEAST favourite dream is the one I tend to get around a week or so before the exam where you’re dreaming that the exam is TOMORROW and you realise you know sweet nothing and you are stressed and panicky and in a tizzle. I usually tend to get this for the major exams but somehow I didn’t get it for these ones… argh do u think that’s a sign I’ve failed? I think I’ve failed these anyway, but time shall tell… the BEST feeling is when you wake up and you frantically go and check the date on your calendar and realise phew it’s ok you can breathe it was JUST A DREAM!! lol.

I find that if I don’t sleep properly for a couple weeks and work or study for too long, my immune system decides it must teach me a lesson by allowing evil organisms to proliferate, resulting in a terribly sore throat, a nagging cough, and a pounding headache. Gahh.. hate being sick.

Firstly – you better be wrapping up warm and getting better soon!!! 🙁 Hot drinks and leave a well-loved movie on in the background and study (that’s how I watched Life in a Metro), it makes it more bearable. 🙂

And I TOTALLY know what you mean. Round exam time, my biggest fear is not that I don’t know the answers (I NEVER know the answers so it’s kinda… stopped being a fear, now it’s just a general habit…ment. Lmao. UP would kill me if she sees this, and she’d tell me to get back to work. ), but that I will GET ILL 👿 and I DID 👿 Now I’m regretting ever having gotten ill as it chopped off 4 out of the 10-odd days I had to study!! ARGH 👿 And I think I’ve got another infection coming now, I can just feeeeeel it but I’m hoping to avoid facing it until tomorrow when the bulk of the exams are over.

    Wish me luck guys! 🙁

So. There I was, at 02:00 hours (yes, that means 2.00 AM!), in the library, making notes from the computer screen. As you casually do. Obviously. 🙄 I was listening to Bombay Meri Jaan on and off on loop, it is an absolute gem of a song and the little nuances to the voices of the singers add a sparkle of magical dust to an already heavenly song – hats off to Rafi saab and Geeta Dutt ji. Definitely a song to check out. Then Dil Chahta Hai’s Tanhayee started playing in my head so the Youtube page changed to Tanhaayee. Then, burned down by all that scribbling (no literally – my thumb was killing me, telling me to bugger off and let its blood supply circulate in uninterrupted peace…) and sighing and tucking hair back and thinking, ‘I don’t understand any of this sh!t…’, I had a sudden urge to listen to… It’s the Time to Disco.

Naturally, as I always do in the back of my mind when this song is playing, I thought of Aman. I remember how she went MAD to this song long back when it released, and if my memory serves me correctly, it involved certain e-forum-dancing-on-tables, too… 😆 (We love her really… right, guys? RIGHT?!) It brought a smile to my face and woke me up from the semi-work-drunken-stupor-induced narcoleptic moment, imagining Aman right in front of me, dancing on the tables in the library at two in the morning to this nostalgic trippin’ one helluva song. Come to think of it, I was feeling drugged up enough on words I was scribbling to have quite easily had myself a little hallucination that Aman WAS actually, indeed, there… 😯

But anyway, now I am rambling worse than the professor whose lecture notes I can no longer comprehend.

This song is dedicated to Aman, because she IS someone special. 🙂 (I mean come on, you’d have to be pretty ‘special’ to dance on… tables?! Haha I kid I kid! I’m just jealous *I* can’t get up and dance on these bloody library tables, really! <3) If you get a spare moment, listen to it too. 🙂

Ooh ain’t seen that. But I saw Life in a Metro. Again. It’s a lovely film and when I have that urge to ponder life and relationships, it is definitely DEFINITELY one of my go-tos. Along with Love Actually (for a more light-hearted view), Dhobi Ghat, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset… and hmm, there are so many more, I just can’t think of them! Salaam-E-Ishq can KIND of work, but it’s too masala ish maybe.

And shit, it’s June THIRD now! 😐

What’s happened on June 1st Aman?

Time really does fly lol God bless it. I think it’s the free-est spirit of all. It hurts and sets us free all at once.

Sigh. You know it’s exam time when I get urges to philosophize and write and wax lyrical about life and muse on the little and big things. Anything to stop me from actually STUDYING!! 😮

NO I completely get what you mean. I actually said good bye to the characters in Suketu Mehta’s Maximum City LOL. …. as you do, of course… 🙄

I am actually contemplating joining the technology scene and getting myself a Kindle or whatever it is called. (Yes yes major traitor I know!! And a major hypocrite after telling you how it’s so much nicer to have the book!!) But of course, right now I can’t afford anything new anyway. Have my heart set on getting a wide angle lens for my camera so I think that’s where the next supply of savings will go to. Or maybe a holiday in winter, hmm! I have a friend in Kuwait whom I really want to visit… :/ argh, decisions. Why can’t money grow on trees! lol
