      Dear members,

I have finally bought the great DVD of the movie JHEEL KE US PAAR and, not understanding one word of Hindi (and the movies never supply subtitles for songs!), would like to ask you to help me with the lyrics of all songs (except the last one on drinking wine, which has already been translated on this site).

      Thank you very much!

      Honey

Here is the title song sung by Lata Mangeshkar:

      ho ho
chal chalen ai dil karen chal kar kisiika intazaar (come, come oh my heart come let us wait for some one)
intazaar, jheel ke us paar (wait, on the other side of the lake)

shaayad koi pardesi mil jaaye soone des mein (perhaps I will find a foreigner in the lonely country)
mil jaaye bhagavaan mujhako aadami ke bhes men (I will find god in the form of a human)
kya ho jaaye kya hai aitabaar, jheel ke us paar (what will happen, what can be counted on, on the other side of the lake)
chal chalen ai dil karen chal kar kisiika intazaar (come, come oh my heart come let us wait for some one)
intazaar, jheel ke us paar (wait, on the other side of the lake)

jo is paar nahi koi kya jaane vo us paar ho (what is not on this side, who knows it may be on the other side)
parbat ke peechhe ek sundar sapanon ka sansaar ho (behind the mountain there may be a beautiful world of dreams)
aai ho bahaaron pe bahaar, jheel ke us paar (perhaps merriment may have come over the spring season, on the other side of the lake)
chal chalen ai dil karen chal kar kisiika intazaar (come, come oh my heart come let us wait for some one)
intazaar, jheel ke us paar (wait, on the other side of the lake)

The following song was sung by Kishore Kumar:
      kyaa nazaare hmmmmm (what sights)
      kyaa sitaare hmmmmm (what stars)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights, what stars)
sab ko hai intezaar sab hain beqaraar (everyone is waiting, everyone is restless)
tu kab sab dekhegi (when are you going to see it all)
har kali mein har gali mein (on every bud, in every alley)
dekhegi meraa pyaar pyaar ki bahaar (you will see my love, the merriment of love)
tu sab jab dekhegi (when you see it all)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights what stars)

baadal ambar pe yun hi aataa jaataa rahegaa (clouds will keep coming in the sky this way)
tere reshmi aaNchal ki tarah lahraataa rahegaa (the end of your silken sari will keep blowing in the wind this way)
qadmon ki dhool choomegi ye phool (these flowers will kiss the dust of your footsteps)
tu jab sab dekhegi (when you see it all)
har kali mein har gali mein (on every bud, in every alley)
dekhegi meraa pyaar pyaar ki bahaar (you will see my love, the merriment of love)
tu sab jab dekhegi (when you see it all)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights what stars)

man mein tu aise samaayi jaise nadiyaa mein neer (you are immersed in my mind/heart in such a way just like water is immersed in the river)
mere nainon ke darpan mein lagi hai yun teri tasveer (in the mirror of my eyes there is this picure)
apnaa ye roop ye chhaaNv dhoop (your own beauty, this shade and sunshine)
tu jab sab dekhegi (when you see it all)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights, what stars)
sab ko hai intezaar sab hain beqaraar (everyone is waiting, everyone is restless)
tu kab sab dekhegi (when are you going to see it all)
har kali mein har gali mein (on every bud, in every alley)
dekhegi meraa pyaar pyaar ki bahaar (you will see my love, the merriment of love)
tu sab jab dekhegi (when you see it all)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights what stars)
      hmmmmmmm
      hmmmmmmm

Bhool gayi mujhe pyaari pyaari surat teri, murat teri (I
have forgetten your sweet sweet face, your image)
Yug beete tujhe dekhe, mai kaise tasweer banaaun (it has
been ages since I saw you, how can I make your portrait)
Mai roun ya muskaaun, mai roun ya muskaaun (Should I cry or
      smile)
Ho mai roun ya mukaaun (Should I cry or smile)

Doli nahi to na sahi, mujhe arthee mei tuu bithlaanaa o phir
tuu jaanaa (no matter if it is not the bridal palanquin, put me on the funeral
      pyre before you leave)
So jaanaa, mat kho jaanaa, ro ro ke lori gaaun (go to sleep,
don’t get lost, I cry and sing you a lullaby)
Mai roun ya muskaaun, mai roun ya muskaaun (Should I cry or
      smile)
Ho mai roun ya mukaaun (Should I cry or smile)

Babul tere baagaan dee mai bulbul (dad, I am the bird of
