What's ur opinion about Bhupinder Singh and Yesudas. Not taking into account the number of songs they'v put in....hows the quality...Tho i agree that Yesudas has a funny accent....And i love Bhupinder's nasal voice!

YESUDAS

Hi LoverofMusic,

It is very difficult to give an honest opinion on Yesudas, his numbers on hindi songs (filmi type) are not that lenthy,  hard as I might try I can only think of about a dozen or even less.

I remember that when he started out in the playback singing field, he was very good, his music were tops, "Trishul" had like about two songs, then there was "Saawan Ko Aane Do"  with about four top hits songs, "Chitchor" has one, and then "Saajan Bina Suhagan" another; I really cannot remember of any other movies with "Hit Songs"

He received the Padmashri from thePresident of India in 1977. He received the first National Award in 1977 for singing in the film Achanum Bappayum, his second National Award for the film Gayathri, the third National Award in 1978 for film Chitchor, the fourth National Award for the Telugu f ilm Mega sandesham, his fifth National Award for the flm Unnikale Oru Katha Parayaam, and his sixth in 1992 for the film Bharatham. In all he is basking in about seven National Awards.

He is unequal in his capacity for songs of Classical type.........he is a master in this type of singing,
ofcourse this is where he had really proven himself, with his ability to master and sing in the many languages of India.........in as much as it is said that he had recorded so far between 20,000 - 25,000 songs. Too bad that I am not too fond of the Classical Type of Songs.

All in all Yesu  Ahimsa released recently along with Ricardo Banrrantes, brings talents from the East and West under one roof, with an aim of spreading the message of global peace and harmony.

Could we put him in the class of  SP Balasubramaniam?

This song sounds very familiar, can not give an opinion on Bhupinder, as I have not listened to many of his filmi songs.........but I did listen to some of his Ghazals Selections with his wife Mitali, and I think that Mitali sings really beautifully, will listen again to "Tauba Tauba"

Could you why he stopped singing in hindi films?
