All-time Top 10 Bollywood love songs - Please reply

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and I hope someone on this site will be willing to help me with the request.

I married the love of my life this past summer. Unfortunately she is still waiting in India for the immigration process to be completed before coming to the USA. She loves bollywood movies and songs, I on the other hand, am not a huge fan. To be honest, my hindi is very limited in terms of reading, speaking, writing, and listening. My wife knows this, and has already forgiven me for my lack of hindi. What I want to do is surprise her when talking on the phone by singing her a beautiful hindi love song. Trouble is, I have no idea on what songs would be appropriate, how they are sung etc.. I was hoping someone on this forum would be kind enough to point me in the right direction.. I'll be able to download the song and get the lyrics through searches on the internet, but identifying the songs is where I am stuck. Can anyone provide me with their top 10 all time hindi love songs that will melt my love's heart?

If you reply, please identify the song title and the film it is from it'll help when I search from them on the internet

Hi guys and girls,

please excuse me first of all im new to the site. I was hoping i could get some help finding a meaningful love song. i know some of you will say that all love songs are meaningful but i find some to be more touching that others. for example i often listen to a song by Anwar - Javeda Zindagi this is probably my all time favorite love song. Im looking for more similar to this song, im not very well educated in the bollywood song history etc. so any help would be much appreciated.

another thing i should mention is that i want to play this song to my girlfriend.

Are you a "chutney" fan? I'm from Trinidad....i personally think the lyrics are usually poor and most times are an insult to the very indian people that sing it...and they don't even recognise it! There are some stand-out artists but on the whole...i think the standard of the lyrics in these songs and the message they promote must be carefully examined.

I just happened to grab the soundtrack for Nishabd. Quite pleasingly, there are only two tracks in this album and that makes it perfect for the storyline. Rozaana - I do not have enough words to express how this song will make your emotions quiver. Amitabh Bachchan does it again. The guts in his vocals will leave any singer's notes, shaking. I had goose flesh, when he strung the high note in the song. Composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, beautifully written by Munna Dhiman, this song will give others their run for the top of the charts. The lyrics flow with the everyday emotions of anyone who has been in love atleast once in lifetime. Amazing track with nice guitar work.

San Francisco to Chicago - 4 hour flight. Only one music album - Namastey London! So the songs better be good. Well before you start thinking what am I talking about, let's get straight to business. Yes, music of Namastey London is good. Having said that, I must add, not all songs are good but the ones which are good can keep you glued for hours. 'Chakna Chakna', 'Main Jahan Rahoon' and 'Yahi Hota Pyaar' can be continuously played in repeat mode.
