Happy Birthday Dear Old Friend

She had another birthday,
As she sat before the mirror.

Her gray hairs are memories,
And her wrinkles are souvenirs.

She can no longer sit because her hip is out of place
But she can still flap that mouth like she's running in a race.

She knows how to play a piano…..some people say
Now fine tuning her hearing aid is the highlight of her day.

She was a snappy dresser and sexy as can be,
But now she wears pajamas and tries not to pee.

Each strand of silver
Each line on her face

Shows she has worried
Shows she has laughed.

I know I have contributed to both in the past.

And so it's Happy Birthday Neesi,
Finally at last a compliment from me,
Your friendly pain in the ass.

Happy birthday, my precious friend,

Ever since, we met that day,

Neesi, I hope you have an amazing day filled with happiness, laughter, comfort, peace, and love. I wish you many many many more wonderful years also filled with peace and love. I wish you are surrounded by all your loved ones and I hope everyone you meet realizes how beautiful of a person you are. Wherever you go, I pray that you find love and understanding from everyone. Wherever you go, I pray that you find peace and comfort in your heart. Wherever you go, I pray that you are happy. And wherever you go, I pray that you know there is a little girl somewhere under the same sky that truly cares for you, thinks of you, prays for you, appreciates all you have done for her, and loves you so much. I'm a little shaky with my words lately, so I'm hoping the poems and pictures will suffice, for you can read them as if they were my own words; I mean every single poem from the bottom of my heart. You have been an amazing friend to me and I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated you in my life. I still remember that time when I was going through some crazy and confusing things in my life and you held me in place and kept me sane when I was sure insanity was hitting me. I still remember how I texted you in the middle of the night while I was crying my eyes out. I wish I had saved those texts that you replied back with. I swear, your words touched me so much I can't even begin to explain what they did for me that night. You helped me breathe that night. You helped me sleep that night. And the morning after, you showed so much understanding... again, I wish I had saved our conversation that morning. And the many times that followed that... you were so caring and comforting. I wish I had taped that phone conversation so that I can remember exactly what you said to me to make me feel so light. You understood me so well that when I spoke to you, I felt so calm and relaxed. I don't think I can ever forget how helpful and loving and amazing you have been to me throughout our friendship.

I sincerely hope everyone knows your worth the way I do, or better. Right Hug

Right now, I cannot find the words to tell you how much I love you and how much I appreciate everything you have done for me and how much I value our friendship. Again, I'm very shaky with my words lately, but I feel that you will understand better than most people would. Smile Just know that I love you, appreciate you, and value you more than you will ever know. So I say these words with every last drop of force and emotion and compassion that these words hold: I love you.
