My father died recently. He was a big fan of Kavi Pradeep. I am listening to a CD he loved and I am looking to get the english translation to share with my siblings. The list of songs on the CD are

Normally I don't bother reading over your translations but I actually find the poems Kavi Pradeep wrote to be really inspiring and that is the only reason I read through this one. Over all you seem to do a pretty good job of translating songs. However, in this case I think a couple of key corrections need to be made. Please don't take this the wrong way. His poems are always pretty soul searching and you really have to dig deep into the thought he is trying to portray. It is easy to miss his meaning if you miss a key word in the sentence. Please take a look and see if you agree with the following.
(1) mukhada dekh le praani zara darapan mein ho
Look at the face in the mirror (meaning look at yourself). The word praani does not mean animal. Praan means life so praani would be any living thing. Here the poet means you should look at yourself in the mirror.
(2) kabhi to pal bhar soch le praani, kya hai teri karam kahaani
(Sometime you should spend a few minutes thinking about your actions and the results. Kahaani literally means story but that is not his intent here )
(3) pata laga le pade hain kitane daag tere daaman mein
Find out how many stains there are on your clothes. In other words take a look at what you have done and how they have resulted in creating a mess.
(4) kud ko dhokha de mat bande, achchhe na hote kapat ke dhandhe – 2
Don't cheat yourself. The profession of conning others is not good.
(5) sada na chalata kisi ka naatak duniya ke aangan mein
one can not play act forever in the courtyard of life
Again, my intent is not to criticize you but I am just trying to make the poets thoughts come across. Please continue to provide translations to the others. As I said earlier you seem to have been doing a good job with it. Hope you take this in the spirit that it was intended. Take care!

Don't feel hesitant about making corrections. This will help people to understand the songs more. I tend not to spend much time on translating because of time constraints and also I translate the literal meanings of the words so others can make their own understanding of the songs.

Every song written by Pradeep are having very deep meanings and which are close to reality. I have tried to provide you the translation as much I understands.
"It means however one tries to become clever or intelligent but he can't change the resutls of his (Karma)actions. I he has done soming wrong in his life but has hidden it from the rest of the world it doesn't means that he won't be punshied for his acts."
"Law of Karma is universal and eqaul to all. Whatever we have done, can't be erased. We will get results according to our karma(actions). The past can't be changed. "
"You must understand this realty , that law of Karma can never be changed."
